How it all began…

It started on a November afternoon in 2021 when two friends — Bartosz Borusiewicz and Paweł Sobotkowski — met over a beer and decided to finally chase their long-standing dream of making games. With a blank page, a pen, and shared values , they laid the foundation for what would become Fornixa Games.

With a background in IT, e-commerce, and gaming, he worked on product, marketing, and business strategy and management.
Now, he channels that experience into guiding the studio’s business growth and creative direction.

Experienced in IT, FinTech, and gaming, he has led marketing, analytics, and business growth across indie and tech sectors.
He now drives the studio’s visibility, strategic partnerships, and community growth.

What is Fornixa Games?

We’re an independent game studio and publisher. Our backgrounds span IT, product management, marketing, and content creation — experience we now bring into game development. Based on that we laid our core values, which are close collaboration with player communities and fellow developers, and product-first thinking.

We began by exploring casual mobile games but quickly realized our true passion lies in games we’d play ourselves. That’s when Zbyszek, a friend of ours, joined. He had in mind a promising turn-based RPG prototype, which became the basis for God Machines, our first major title.

Building the team with no budget

Fornixa is fully bootstrapped. We’re a team of over a dozen people, working part-time, treating our projects as a shared investment into products we believe in and a studio we want to build long-term. We operate with full transparency, shared ownership, and open communication — our entire business plan is visible to the team.

First steps into publishing

We fancy full creative control, so we chose to self-publish.

We chose to focus on self-publishing because it gives us full control over our creative direction, production schedule, and player communication — the foundations on which we want to build our games.
Developing our own publishing pipeline also forces us to master every stage of a game’s lifecycle, making us a stronger and more independent team.

As we grew, we saw that our experience could support other indie teams, leading us naturally into publishing. We’re building the foundations now — refining processes, exploring partnerships and preparing to help external developers, all while continuing to self-publish our own titles.

Additional activities

We regularly attend industry events to learn and share our journey.

Since 2024, we’ve been co-organizing CD-Action Expo — one of Poland’s biggest consumer gaming events — enlisting exhibitors, managing the gaming zone, and working closely with the legendary CD-Action, Poland’s iconic video game magazine and media portal.

The next edition of the Expo will take place on May 30–31, 2026 the Atlas Arena in Łódź, Poland.
Recruitment for exhibitors along with more details coming soon.

Quo Vadis, Fornixa?

But what does Fornixa’s name stand for?

Fornix (“arch” in Latin) is a C-shaped bundle of nerve fibers inside the brain, a crucial tool for memory encoding. Our mission is to utilize the fornix by creating memorable experiences that people will love and never forget.
